Talkin’ Pets with Jon Patch is a lively, educational, and fun call-in pet show about the animals that share our lives. Is your bird losing its feathers? Is your dog digging up the backyard? Maybe your cat is using your favorite chair as a scratching post? Jon and guest veterinarians and trainers help pet parents cope with medical and behavioral questions related to all kinds of domestic animals.
About Host
Jon Patch graduated from Penn State University in 1983 and landed his first broadcasting job as a talk radio producer at the flagship station to SUN Radio Network in St. Petersburg, FL. In three months he advanced to network producer, then went on air as a weather reporter for the Tampa Bay area. He then held a position in management as a trainer to new hosts and producers and later became affiliate relations manager. He started hosting “Talkin’ Pets” in 1990. Jon says that his “one true passion in life is to help to educate the world through interviews with celebrities like Betty White, Tippi Hedren, Bob Barker, Linda Blair and others, authors, foundations and organizations like the ASPCA, LCA, HSUS, AHA, WSPA on the ways to make this world a better place for all animals and mankind.”
“Talkin’ Pets” also features news on animal welfare, wildlife, farming, and environmental issues that affect animals everywhere, as well as interviews with authors, pet product CEOs, and representatives of organizations like the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Humane Society of the United States, Animal Kennel Club, Westminster Kennel Club, Last Chance For Animals, National Geographic, NatGeo Wild, and Animal Planet. Jon’s roster of celebrity interviews includes Betty White, Bob Barker, Linda Blair, Tippi Hedren, Greg Louganis, and Dean Koontz, to name just a few. Jon has hosted remotes from The Genesis Awards in Los Angeles for more than a decade and The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC since 1993.
